Thiruvananthapuram: Days after a woman alleged that she was confined, raped and assaulted by her live-in partner, another woman came forward and accused the man of physical assault. The 33-year-old accused, Martin Joseph, has not been arrested yet. Joseph's live-in partner lodged a complaint against him on April 8, after she escaped confinement.

While the Kochi police has not been able to nab Joseph, three of his friends - who helped him flee - were arrested by the cops. The accused allegedly locked the woman inside the flat repeatedly raped her and even thrashed her brutally. Allegedly, the accused poured hot water mixed with red chilli powder on the woman and thrashed her with a belt. Reportedly, Joseph had asked the woman to invest Rs 5 lakh in the stock market, where he did his business. He had also promised her a return of Rs 40,000 on the investment but was unable to deliver. When the woman confronted the accused about the money, he allegedly grew into a fit of rage and subjected her to physical as well as mental torture.
